GUEST SPEAKER: FRANK MEEINK, FORMER NEO-NAZI SKINHEAD
Frank Meeink became a Skinhead at 13. By 18 he was Skinhead leader and neo-Nazi recruiter with his own cable access TV show, “The Reich.” He was part of gangs that would beat people indiscriminately. In prison for kidnapping and beating a rival Skinhead member, he was befriended by men of different races. When he was released from prison, a Jewish man gave him a job. Though he tried to rejoin his old Skinhead pals, he couldn’t bring himself to hate those whom he now knew to be his friends. You can see a two minute clip of Frank’s story at https://vimeo.com/16895931
Now a noted speaker and author, Frank advocates for respect and empathy and travels across the country challenging hate and bigotry. Frank is truly an inspiration. His message is especially important in today’s divided country.
Why did he become a Skinhead? Why did he get out of the movement? How can his lessons help us today? Don’t miss Frank’s powerful and thought provoking presentation. If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie Rosenfeld at srosenfeld@adl.org.
