Houston and the Gulf Coast are poised to become a hub for “carbon management” having received several awards from the Department of Energy through the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Join Paige Powell, Senior Policy Manager at Commission Shift, for a carbon storage and hydrogen overview to educate and empower the public to take direct action through policy advocacy. In the coming months, there will be opportunities to engage on issues of public safety regarding carbon capture and hydrogen projects, including: Department of Energy Carbon Management workshops, Community benefits plan development and agreement negotiation, Carbon dioxide pipeline safety rulemaking public comment period, and Class VI carbon dioxide sequestration well permits public comment period, etc. Attend this webinar to help demystify some of the technology and jargon around these projects, while getting informed about their public health and safety risks so that you can feel more prepared to participate in the process.
