HOUSTON (October 20, 2020) – Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston (Interfaith Ministries) is pleased to announce its fall 2020 Vital Conversations with our Community virtual discussions. This series began in summer 2020, as a response to the murder of George Floyd. The purpose of the series is to highlight social justice topics from an interfaith perspective.
The first virtual dialogue in the fall series, “Transforming Communities, Transforming Lives”, will highlight the work of the Fifth Ward Redevelopment Corporation and the Center for Urban Transformation. It will take place on Tuesday, October 27 from Noon to 1:00 p.m. and will focus on how the Fifth Ward neighborhood is improving the lives of some of its most vulnerable residents to bring about lasting change.
The second fall dialogue, “Education and Equity: Solutions, Opportunity, Growth”, will explore the complex realities of education in Houston based on data gathered by Rice University’s Houston Education Research Collaborative. This conversation will take place on Tuesday, December 1 from Noon – 1:00 p.m.
Both virtual events will be hosted on Zoom and livestreamed on Facebook. For more information, visit www.imgh.org/vitalconversations. The events are free and open to the public, though registration is required.
Interfaith Ministries is grateful to all its series sponsors, especially Bridgeway Capital Management.
