Volunteer Houston, a program of Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston (Interfaith Ministries), will celebrate its legacy of 45 years of service at an unforgettable anniversary dinner on Wednesday, November 13 at 6 p.m. at Hilton Americas-Houston, located at 1600 Lamar Street in Houston. Sponsorship opportunities are available from $2,500 to $25,000, with a variety of recognition and benefits. Individual tickets are $250 for general seating or $500 for VIP preferred seating.
“I am very excited about the 45th anniversary of Volunteer Houston,” said Martin B. Cominsky, president and CEO of Interfaith Ministries. “I hope the community will join us in celebrating the anniversary and spend time volunteering with the many nonprofit agencies in our community that need the help of Houstonians.”
Robert M. Gates, the 22nd Secretary of Defense, former president of Texas A & M University, and former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, will provide remarks and participate in a “fireside chat” with Eleanor Gates, director of Volunteer Houston.
There will be a Daily Point of Light award given at the event by Neil Bush, chairman of Points of Light.
Melanie Lawson, ABC 13 news anchor, will be the event emcee and her father, The Rev. William A. Lawson, will provide the invocation.
Event sponsors include Hilton Americas-Houston, Frost Bank, BP America Inc., Dawn and Richard Rawson, The Buzz Magazines and Community Impact Newspapers. Proceeds benefit Volunteer Houston and the other programs of Interfaith Ministries.
